WPGlotty is a WordPress translation plugin that is easy to use and writes natural, readable translations. It is free for one site, with no end date. Create an account to download it. You do not need a credit card.
Translate pages, menus, your WooCommerce shop and builder content, including SEO titles and descriptions. Correct sentences on the page itself, and style a language switcher to suit your site.
Free download, with 5,000 words of WPGlotty credits included.
What you get for free
Your free licence includes the on-page editor, WooCommerce support, a language switcher and SEO translations. Start a whole-site run with your 5,000 free words of WPGlotty credits. WPGlotty estimates how many words it needs before you start. You can also write translations yourself, on one site, for as long as you like.
To change a translation, open the page, click the sentence and type. WPGlotty keeps your corrections when you translate again. With WPGlotty credits, set your tone and choose formal or informal wording for each language. WPGlotty can detect your existing form of address in five languages. All 108 languages and regional variants are included, with no extra licence fee for adding one.
- Edit translations on your own pages, where visitors read them
- No badge on your site, no expiry, no nag screens
- Translate WooCommerce, builder content, menus and SEO text
- Your translations stay in your own WordPress database
- No credit card needed to get started
What you can translate
Translate your pages, menus and WooCommerce shop, including text from your theme and plugins. WPGlotty translates the finished page, so it works with whichever page builder you use. You never have to hunt for individual fields in WordPress.
Your free licence includes translated slugs, hreflang tags and sitemaps for each language. Search engines use them to find each language version. Translated pages load from your own site, not from our servers.
- Pages built with Elementor, Breakdance, Bricks, Divi and WPBakery
- Menus, WooCommerce product pages, cart and checkout
- Image alt text
- SEO titles and meta descriptions
- Translated URLs
Translate on the page itself
Edit translations where visitors read them. While you browse, the page panel shows progress and who translated the page, and highlights text that still needs work.
- Open a page in WPGlotty’s editor. You see the same layout and text your visitors see, ready for you to translate.
- Click the sentence you want to change and type your translation.
- Save your translation. WPGlotty stores it in your site’s database and shows it when visitors choose that language.
Give translators their own accounts, with access to the editor but not the WordPress dashboard. You can limit each translator to the languages they work on.

What paid plans add
WPGlotty credits use our own translation engine, with no provider key needed. After your free words, a paid plan lets you buy more. Add yearly words at checkout or later on your billing page, or buy word packs that never expire. Plans renew yearly and differ by the number of sites.
WPGlotty translates several pages at once in the background, so you can close the screen while it works. It translates new pages and changed sentences automatically unless you switch this off. Your corrections stay in place. Paid plans also support your own key. With both credits and a key, you choose which goes first. By default, credits go first; your key takes over when they run out.
With your own key, your provider bills you directly at its rates, with nothing added by WPGlotty. You can set a monthly spending limit for that key. Translation through it stops when you reach the limit. See the pricing page for your options. You can cancel whenever you like. You can also compare WPGlotty with TranslatePress, WPML and Weglot.
Questions
Questions about the free licence
Is WPGlotty free to use?
Yes. WPGlotty is free for one site, with no end date. Create an account at wpglotty.com to get your licence. On first activation, you get 5,000 words of WPGlotty credits, once per account and site. No provider key needed. Your licence includes the on-page editor, WooCommerce, SEO features and all 108 languages and regional variants. With a paid plan, you can add yearly credits, buy word packs or use your own provider key.
What does the free licence not include?
You need a paid plan to buy word packs, add yearly words or use your own provider key. The free licence covers one site, with the editor and 5,000 words of WPGlotty credits to start.
Do I need a credit card?
No. You only need your name and e-mail address to create an account. Your free licence has no end date and does not turn into a paid plan.
How many languages does the free licence support?
You get all 108 languages and regional variants on one site. Add as many as you need, with no extra licence fee for each language.
Can I use the free licence on a commercial site?
Yes. Use your free licence on one site, whether it is a shop, a company site or a blog. WooCommerce is included.
What happens if I stop paying for a plan?
Your translations stay in your database. You can keep editing one site on the free licence, but your own key stops working. Word packs never expire; they and unused welcome words keep translating. Plan words expire when the plan ends.
What customers say
4.8 out of 5, from 4 reviews.

We moved a client site of about four thousand strings over in an afternoon. The import took the translated URLs with it, so nothing dropped out of Google, and the bill is now whatever DeepL charges us rather than a licence on top.

The editor is the part that sold it to me. Click a sentence on the live page, fix it, done. My client does her own corrections now and I get the invoice for the words and nothing else.

Our Breakdance header and popups came across without me touching a template, which is more than the last plugin managed. Setting up the language switcher took a few minutes of reading, hence four rather than five.

Nine languages on a WooCommerce shop, running on our own OpenAI key. What used to be a monthly worry is a line in the API bill, and the checkout reads properly in every one of them.
