Where your data goes and what WPGlotty sends.
For translation
Translation requests contain your text and a one-line description of your site. Unless you turn page context off, they also include the page’s title and address. Automatic translation cannot work without sending your text, and this is the request you pay for.
With your own key, text goes directly from your server to Claude, DeepL, Gemini, Google Translate or OpenAI. It does not pass through wpglotty.com.
With WPGlotty credits, text goes to our translation service instead. You do not need a separate key. With a paid plan, you can buy credits from your account.

Usage reports include your licence key, domain, and plugin and WordPress versions. They record strings found and translated, words sent, dollars spent, and the provider and model used.
Usage reports contain no text, translations, URLs beyond the domain, or information about visitors or users. You can see the reported counts on your account page.
- Sent: licence key, domain, versions, counts, provider and model names
- Not included in usage reports: content, translations, URLs, visitor data, user accounts
- Only if you switch it on: your encrypted provider API key, so several sites can use it
You cannot turn usage reporting off. If the law where you are requires it, say in your privacy policy that the plugin sends usage counts to its maker.
What is stored on your site
WPGlotty stores text and translations in its own database tables. It does not duplicate your source content or rewrite page-builder data. Uninstalling therefore leaves your original site unchanged.
WPGlotty encrypts keys you enter in the settings screen if your server has PHP’s sodium extension. It does not store keys defined in wp-config.php.
