When the source text changes

Drift

A translation belongs to a specific source string. Change the English and the Dutch is now a translation of something you no longer say, but it is not wrong in any way a computer can see, so nothing complains.

WPGlotty keeps a fingerprint of the source. When it changes, every translation of that string is marked as drifted and queued to be done again. Only that string: the other four thousand are untouched.

Retranslating on purpose

Sometimes nothing drifted and you still want it done again: you changed the tone of voice, added a glossary term, or switched to a better model. Translation status has a retranslate action for exactly that, scoped to a language, a status, or the whole site.

New pages

A page published after the first run is picked up the first time it is rendered. If you would rather not wait for a visitor, running the site translation again is cheap: strings that are already done are skipped.
