Licence and account

The free licence

One site, no end date and no card required. Start with 5,000 words of WPGlotty credits on first activation, once per account and site. A paid plan lets you buy more words or use your own provider key.

What you get

The free licence is not a trial. It covers one site with no end date. There is nothing to renew, and it does not end after a week or a month.

You get all 108 languages and regional variants, the on-page editor, the switcher, the strings screen, hreflang and sitemaps. There is no limit on manual translation, and WPGlotty adds no branding to your site. You can write translations in WPGlotty’s editor or translate automatically with your 5,000 welcome words.

  • All 108 languages and regional variants, with no limit on how much you translate by hand
  • No end date and nothing to cancel
  • No credit card needed

What a plan adds

A paid plan lets you use your own provider key, buy word packs or add a yearly word allowance. You can use your key alongside WPGlotty credits. By default, WPGlotty uses your credits first and switches to your key when they run out. You use the same editor as on the free licence. Your corrections stay when you translate the site again.

With your own key, your provider bills you at its rates. We add nothing per word. Your plan determines how many sites your licence covers.

Before you start translating with your own key, set a monthly limit under WPGlotty, then Settings. Translation stops when you reach it.

Getting one

Create an account on wpglotty.com. Your dashboard has the licence key and plugin download. In WordPress, paste the key under WPGlotty, then Licence. Enter the e-mail address you signed up with, then click Save licence.

If the plugin is already installed, you can start from its Licence screen. Enter your e-mail address and we will send you a link to your account, where you can find the key. If that address has no account yet, the link creates one with a free licence.

Each account gets one free licence.

What never stops

Your saved translations do not expire or get deleted when your licence or account changes. They stay in your WordPress database. Your site serves them, not our servers, so visitors can still read them.

We remove accounts whose only licence is an unused free one. This happens ninety days after issue if never activated, or after twelve months without use. We will e-mail you once, fourteen days before removal. Using the plugin again cancels removal.
