When the source text changes
When you change the source text, WPGlotty identifies the affected translations and queues them for an update.
Drift
Each translation belongs to a specific source string. If you change an English sentence, its Spanish translation still reflects the old wording. It may read correctly while no longer saying what you intended.
WPGlotty stores a fingerprint of the source text to detect changes. When a string changes, WPGlotty marks its translations as drifted and queues them for translation again. Other strings stay unchanged.
Retranslating on purpose
After changing tone, glossary terms or models, use Translate everything again on Translation status for one language or all languages. It only redoes translations made before your last settings change, even if the source is unchanged. If nothing changed, nothing is queued.
Retranslation leaves hand-edited translations unchanged. To replace those too, delete them under Strings with Delete translation, then translate again.
New pages
With automatic translation enabled, WPGlotty picks up new pages when you save them, during the nightly check or on their first view. You can also start another site translation run. It skips strings that already have translations.
